TAMPA FILM FESTIVALS
The film festival events of Tampa Bay Film and the resource for Tampa film festivals

CONVENTIONAL FILM FESTIVALS

Conventional film festivals are both annual and monthly film festivals. They are heavily promoted, marketed, and have a budget. Most are non-profit or run by non profit organizations. While Tampa Film Festivals primarily is used to market Tampa Bay Film conventional film festival properties, we will also serve as a resource for other Tampa film festivals (just not on our main page). Other conventional Tampa film festivals include the large annual film festivals such as, but not limited to, the Sarasota Film Festival, the Gasparilla International Film Festival (which is, in our opinion, trying to become another Sarasota Film Festival), the Sunscreen Film Festival, the Ybor Festival Of The Moving Image (Also known as the Ybor Film Festival), and a few others.

Annual Film Festivals

Annual film festivals are film festivals which are held once per year, such as the Tampa Bay film festival, the Sunscreen Film Festival. Another example would be the Tampa film festival, the Reverence Film Festival, which is a genre-specialized horror and exploitation film festival, and our flagship Tampa film festival, the Frontier Film Festival. Most annual film festivals are large film festivals, with judges and awards.

Monthly Film Festivals

Monthly film festivals are held once a month, and are more useful for networking than for showing a lot of films. Most monthly film festivals show short films, as they do not run long enough to show more than one feature-length film. The Tampa Film Review was a monthly Tampa film festival which had a five year run, usually running on time every month, with a few exceptions. The Tampa Film Showcase monthly film festival and professional networking event series is an upcoming monthly Tampa film festival which will have advanced features that rival large annual film festivals. It will set a professional standard for the monthly film festival format.

Indie Film Premiers

Indie film premiers are film festivals built around one film (and possibility more than one). They are usually produced by filmmakers and film production companies when they have finished a film project and are about to release it. Many filmmakers and indie film production companies premier their films at venues such as professional movie theaters.
